The Backrooms
This is the beginning of the Abstract Engineer blog.
I chose "The Backrooms" as the title because it mirrors how my mind works. I rarely focus on just one straight path. I often get lost in my own thoughts, opening a door just to see where it leads. If it’s a dead end, I turn around, pick another door, and keep walking until I discover a route I actually want to take.
I’ve spent a lot of time building in silos behind those doors. Whether I'm producing gaming insights for Ties That Bind Gaming, structuring the discovery network for PK Nexus, or developing custom WordPress plugins to solve specific problems, the development process is almost never linear. Abstract Engineer is where I'm pulling back the curtain on the "how" and "why" behind the paths I finally choose to walk down.
I’m using this space to document the architecture, the hurdles, and the lessons learned along the way. You can expect to find detailed project writeups, case studies, lightweight engineering notes on tooling, and official changelogs for my active projects.
While a lot of my work intersects with the gaming industry, this blog is a look at the full-stack reality of being an independent developer, showcasing everything I build.
If you’re here for the finished work, start with the Projects page. Otherwise, stick around for the technical breakdowns.
